Each ribbon was personalized to each of the women. Each of the recipients also received an electric toothbrush donated by Blazzard DDS of Mesquite.
As these gifts were delivered, there were a few tears, a lot of smiles, many hugs and some laughter. It was a beautiful moment and one that made everything worth it. That spirit of giving and receiving was heartfelt and what a lot would say is the “true meaning” of Christmas.
The Pink Christmas NV committee is already talking about the fundraiser for 2022 and ways to expand it. For more information about this amazing event contact Kirsten Pearson at 702-279-2530.
Three local women who are undergoing treatment for cancer, received a little help last week from the Pink Christmas NV organization. The recipients included area residents Anita Burton, Shaquel Cannon and Wende Wolfe-Killinger.
The generous funding was the result of the annual Pink Christmas fundraiser event held at Scotty’s Bar and Grill on Dec. 11, 2021. The event included a social hour, a dinner, live music, and a huge Pink Chrismtas raffle. All the funds raised from the event went to help these special women who are battling cancer. The event was a tremendous success with the community rallying together to help.
Last week, the checks were delivered by members of the Pink Christmas NV organization. The checks came with a beautiful wooden pink ribbon plaque made and donated by Max Maxfield of ASC74Designs.
