Old Sears building will be used for vaccination clinic starting Monday

The former Sears building at the Moreno Valley Shopping Mall is being converted to a COVID-19 vaccine site. The new site, located at 22550 Town Circle, will begin vaccinating people Monday (March 8) from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“I am excited that such a large city will be getting a vaccination site,”
said Supervisor Jeff Hewitt, Fifth District.
“This will help us make sure our elderly and most vulnerable have convenient access to the vaccine.”
The former Sears location, found on the store’s second floor, replaces the Corona High School vaccine site, which closes today (March 5). The Riverside University Health System-Public Health team is transferring to the new location in Moreno Valley.
“The Corona High School location was a great site and the people there were fantastic,”
said Kim Saruwatari, director of RUHS-Public Health.
“We are looking forward to coming to Sears because there is so much potential there.”
The former Sears site is one of more than a dozen locations available through the county’s website (www.rivcoph.org/covid-19-vaccine) for vaccine appointments.
